FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Image Displays in WebsiteComparison of displaying images in different Formats - "A picture is worth a thousand words"30/12/2007 Below is a sample of photos in the formats as shown and how they will appear on a website. The secret to a website is to have all pages to download as quick as possible and the more you have the longer it will take. When someone is looking at your website you want to keep them there as long as possible so that they know ALL about you and your services and hopefully do "business" with you. Photos No. 1, 2 & 3 .jpg format (High Resolution for a website) are as they would appear in a picture viewer, however for them to be on a page as is takes quite a bit of time to download, therefore they are thumbnailed (right photos) and reduced down to a Low Resolution and will download quicker. If they wish to view a photo, they can click on the thumbnail and then there is only a small amount to download for each photo. Photos (Files) 4, 5 & 6 .pdf format (Very High Resolution for a website) cannot be actually shown as a picture/photo because the are embedded within a file and have to be shown as a link. I have shown the actual file name in No. 4 & 5 from within the website files, but they can be named to whatever you want as in No. 6, but they lead to the same file. When you click on the .pdf file, watch the amount of time it takes to download and compare it with the thumbnailed ones. Further to this, those who wish to look at the .pdf photos have to have the appropriate reader installed on their computer and if they do NOT have it, they will NOT be able to see them. Check out all those below and see what you think. *NOTE* - Once a decision has been made, all information on this page will be removed!
